Contact Segments (beta)

Whether you need to filter contacts by location, accounting details, or client role, Segments allows you to tailor contact views to suit your unique workflows.
There are many benefits to using Segments in Karbon:
Customizable contact filtering: Sort and view contacts based on specific criteria, such as location, client type, or service needs.
Efficient bulk actions: Effortlessly create work items in bulk for selected contact segments.
Easy export for outreach: Export filtered contact lists to perform bulk actions like email marketing outreach, simplifying client communications, and CRM tasks.
This beta release includes the ability to:
Create, save, and apply segments to the contact list.
Segment filter options include fields like client type, accounting details, location, and specific attributes.
Use more complex filters, including single or multiple selection dropdowns, text search, dates, boolean, and numerical criteria.
This feature is currently in beta with a full release planned for Q4 2024. If you’d like to join the beta program, register your interest here.

Assign colleagues faster with AI smart suggestions
With Smart Suggestions (beta), you automatically see a list of the most relevant and active work items and contacts displayed when adding emails to work and contact timelines, helping you assign work quickly, without the search.
Now, Karbon AI considers past work items and suggests all relevant colleagues for assignments.
This new feature will be rolled out in phases, starting with those already enrolled in the Smart Suggestions beta. If you are interested in joining this beta you can request access here.
QBOA integration now available for Canadian and UK firms (beta)
The Karbon Billing and Payments integration with QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA), currently in beta, is now available for customers in Canada and the UK, as well as the US and Australia.
The integration syncs invoices, payments, and client financial data between Karbon and QBOA.
Invoices sent using Karbon automatically sync to QBOA, ensuring your financial data is always up-to-date without manual entry.
Payments received via Karbon or entered into QBOA auto-sync between both systems. This makes it easy to track all types of payments—from paper checks entered directly into QBOA to card and direct debit payments processed with Karbon—for an accurate, real-time view of your cash flow.
Effortlessly handle payments applied to multiple invoices.
Address invoice syncing errors quickly with built-in error management.
Combined with Karbon’s auto-pay features for recurring invoices, the integration allows clients to pay automatically through saved payment details and updates QBOA automatically.
Firms in Australia, Canada, the UK, and USA can sign up for the beta here.
Draft invoices to carry new time & expenses
We’ve made it easier to manage time and expenses added to work items after an invoice is drafted. Now, any new time or expenses will automatically appear in a ‘carried’ state, allowing you to easily track them without immediately including them in the current invoice. This change gives you the flexibility to decide whether to include these items while ensuring that they are deferred by default, giving you greater control and accuracy over your billing process.
Clearer billing run status labels with open and close
We’ve updated the billing run language to use ‘Open’ and ‘Close’ instead of ‘Draft’ and ‘Post’. This clearer terminology helps prevent confusion, allowing you to more easily track and manage billing runs.
Integrate with IdentityCheck for KYC automation
IdentityCheck by StackGo now integrates with Karbon, simplifying KYC and AML compliance. A single trigger allows clients to verify their identity through biometric checks using a government-issued ID and selfie. Optional AML screening (PEP, Sanctions, Adverse Media) is performed, with results automatically recorded in the corresponding Karbon client record.
