It eliminates the need to switch between multiple tools. You can send tax organizers, track client intake, assemble and annotate workpapers, and store final binders—all from within Karbon. By automating document renaming, sorting, and bookmarking, it speeds up preparation, reduces errors, and gives clients a seamless experience.

What are smart tax organizers and binders?

Smart organizers are personalized client questionnaires and document request lists generated automatically from prior-year tax data. Smart binders automatically rename, categorize, and bookmark client documents, provide real-time missing item alerts, and simplify annotations and sign-offs.

How do clients use the StanfordTax + Karbon integration?

Clients receive their tax organizer directly through the Karbon for Clients portal. They can review, upload, and complete their information in one secure location. All submitted documents flow directly into your Karbon workspace, where they are processed into an organized binder.

Will this integration require clients to log into both StanfordTax and Karbon for Clients client portals?

Clients will have user accounts and logins for each portal, but only need to access Karbon for Clients. Included OAuth authentication allows clients to log in once and be automatically authenticated in both systems for a seamless, secure experience.

Can I track client progress in real time?

Yes. Karbon’s Progress Reports let you monitor the status of all client tax organizers in real time. You’ll know exactly what’s missing, what’s been submitted, and when an organizer is complete—triggering the next step in your tax workflow automatically.

Does this integration work with my existing tax software?

StanfordTax pulls prior-year tax details directly from your tax software to build personalized organizers. This ensures clients only see the documents relevant to them, improving accuracy and turnaround time.

How do I get started with StanfordTax in Karbon?

This integration is currently in closed beta. However, Karbon firms can try out StanfordTax now with five free organizers. Early adopters also receive a limited-time discount on StanfordTax credits. Contact your Karbon representative for more details.
