Expedite client intake with StanfordTax (beta)

Karbon’s integration with StanfordTax, a leading provider of tax organizers and workpapers in the US, is now launching in beta. This integration brings the full organizer experience directly into Karbon, giving firms a connected way to manage client intake, documents, and preparation workflows all in one place.

Here’s how it works:
  • Deploy organizers from Karbon: Build personalized, AI-powered tax organizers in seconds with StanfordTax, accessible directly from Karbon.

  • A unified client portal experience: Clients can receive StanfordTax organizer tasks directly within Karbon for Clients, keeping all interactions in one place with a single login.

  • Organizer tasks in work: Organizer tasks are visible as part of Karbon work items for easy tracking and alignment.

  • Real-time sync: Contact records, organizer statuses, and client progress automatically sync to Karbon.

  • Workpapers and document automation: Client files are automatically sorted, bookmarked, and delivered into Karbon for faster review and preparation.

  • Progress tracking: Firm-wide reports let you monitor organizer completion and intake progress across your client base.

If you already have a StanfordTax account, you can request to join the integration beta. Access will be rolled out in phases. 

Manage tax season confidently with progress reports (beta)

Now in beta, progress reports give you a clear, real-time view of how tax work is progressing across every stage of the season. Available in a new tab under Work, these reports let you see progress across sections, filter by work type, template, client, client type, and client group—so you can quickly understand how work is actually progressing.

You can also save views to monitor key segments of work and share them with your team.

This makes it easier to spot bottlenecks, rebalance workloads, and keep everything moving smoothly.

Triage & Work

Delegated Triage 

After a successful beta, Delegated Triage is now available to all firms. This feature allows you to grant team members access to your Triage inbox, ensuring critical communication doesn’t get missed when you’re on leave or supported by an assistant.

Key capabilities:

  • Delegate your Triage temporarily or indefinitely to one or more Karbon users

  • Delegates can assign, clear, and add emails to timelines, while replying as themselves

  • Both delegator and delegate maintain full visibility into Triage actions

  • Delegation can be updated or revoked at any time

This addresses one of the most frequently requested customer needs: ensuring continuity of client communication in busy firms or during staff absences.

Delegated Triage has also been added to the mobile app so you can Triage on the go.

Time & Budgets

Time tracking is now easier to manage with these two updates:

  • Quick access to your personal timesheet: A new Current Timesheet tab has been added under the Time module to give you one-click direct access to your personal timesheet.

  • Add notes to a running timer: You can now add notes to a running timer to keep better track of what you’re spending time on in a given time block.

Billing & Payments

Create invoices directly from work items

Invoicing out of Karbon has never been easier: You can now one-click create an invoice directly from a work item.

This speeds up billing and gives you full visibility into the link between the work you completed and what’s billed, so realization insights are instant and accurate.

Reconcile faster with invoices and receivables export files

You can now export all your invoices and receivables in Karbon as Excel files. This makes it quick and easy to reconcile your AR records in Karbon with your general ledger, without extensive manual data manipulation.

If you have filters applied for invoices or receivables, the export file will download only the filtered data, giving you exactly what you need.

Get granular invoice data from the Invoice API

You can now retrieve tax and revenue data from Billing with the Invoice API using $expand=Data. This allows much more granular and powerful custom reporting in your BI tool with your underlying Karbon data for revenue and performance analysis.

Five new integrations have been released to bring your favorite apps closer to Karbon’s ecosystem.

Active by Business Fitness

Active is a cloud-based workpaper solution designed for accounting professionals. The Active and Karbon integration keeps client information in sync across both platforms, helping you reduce duplicate data entry and ensuring your team is always working from the most up-to-date client contact details. Active primarily serves firms in Australia and New Zealand.

Truss

Truss is an AI-powered platform that automates the intake, organization, and delivery of tax documents. The Truss and Karbon integration streamlines your tax workflow by automatically creating work items in Karbon when clients upload all their documents through Truss, saving time and reducing manual effort. Truss is focused on serving firms in the U.S. market.

Socket 

Socket is a proposal and sales engagement tool that connects your sales and onboarding processes. The Socket and Karbon integration streamlines operations by linking sales, client management, and onboarding workflows directly with Karbon, helping reduce scope creep and boost profitability. Socket primarily serves UK and European firms.

BambooHR 

BambooHR is a leading global HR software platform for small and medium businesses. The BambooHR and Karbon integration automatically provisions new Karbon users when employees are added in BambooHR, helping you maintain accurate user access and streamline onboarding. 

This integration is currently in beta. Submit your interest to gain early access.

BGL 

BGL provides cloud-based compliance management software, including CAS 360, Simple Fund 360, and Simple Invest 360. The BGL and Karbon two-way integration centralizes client and contact data across all connected platforms, syncing updates made in any of the apps. This integration is available in Australia and New Zealand.
