Say hello to Sara Goepel, Karbon’s Chief Product Officer

For as long as I can remember, I have been driven by finding new, exciting and powerful solutions in tech.

Over the last 20 years, my professional journey has been consistent and focused on building products that make customers’ lives better, and transform how they do business. From my first role working at web design agency Shift, to my time on the product team at Xero during their explosive growth period, my motivation has never changed.

And now is no exception. In fact, this motivation only grows as I go on, and it’s time to take that next step.

I’m beyond thrilled to be appointed Chief Product Officer at Karbon.

I joined Karbon on day one as VP of Product. Back when it was a concept, a promise of a better and stronger future for accounting business owners and leaders. And over the last 7 years, we have done just that. But we’re not finished yet.

I am excited to lead an incredible team with many decades of experience under their belts, both in product and accounting. We have a deep understanding of our customers and the context in which they work.

But at the same token, we view our relationship with them as a mutual experience. This means that, together with our customers, we are continually finding ways to manage accounting practices more efficiently.

And our product gets better, stronger and smarter with each of these developments.

Ultimately, my vision for accounting firms is clear: to be on the leading edge of what technology can offer, and leveraging these systems to build really successful practices.

A successful accounting practice is based on strong relationships—it has always been this way and always will be. Strong relationships with current clients, prospective clients and colleagues are integral to a thriving practice. One thing that differentiates Karbon is that all communication with both clients and colleagues is managed within our product.

Our goal is that through this, our customers benefit two-fold:

Firstly, being able to manage every interaction and have a centralized view in Karbon allows them to build stronger relationships. Everyone knows what they need to do, how and when. Communication, both internally and externally, is clear and effective.

Secondly, practices using Karbon are better-placed to operate in a remote work environment. Remote work is increasingly a model that businesses see value in and support. It doesn't matter where you and your colleagues are in the world, if you use Karbon, you are connected.

I am driven by making Karbon the best practice management software for accountants in the world. Our team is focused on consistent development and innovation. As customer priorities change and technology develops, our vision is to work with these ebbs and flows, to deliver the best practice management solution possible.

Our 2022 roadmap is packed full of new features that will continue to transform how accounting practices work. It's going to be another huge year for Karbon, and I’m excited to lead our product team to build a better future for our customers.
