About this template
This is the workflow template for completing tax returns of estates & trusts (e.g. 1041) with Intuit ProConnect Tax. It outlines detailed tasks for steps including organization, client requests, tax preparation, process updates, review, assembly, filing and follow-up. Four roles within a team may be involved—an Admin, Preparer, Reviewer and Client Manager (for a tax review meeting).
Set the start date as the date to begin work (e.g. January 1) and the due date is the filing date (e.g. April 15). Assign the work to the Admin initially. The work is expected to take 31 days.
If you use this template in Karbon, automators within the workflow will update the task due dates, change statuses of both the tasks and work, and move the assignment of the work automatically based on the completion of the sections themselves. The template is set to kick-off, complete, file and confirm with the client within 4 weeks (barring client slow down or internal issues).
