About this template

This is the best practice work template to prepare and file dormant accounts.

In the UK, dormant companies must be registerd with Companies House. A company is called dormant by Companies House if it has had no ‘significant’ transactions in the financial year. Significant transactions do not include:

  • filing fees paid to Companies House
  • penalties for late filing of accounts
  • money paid for shares when the company was incorporated

The templates includes steps to confirm with your clients that the account is dormant, prep, review, assembly, and filing with Companies House.
