Karbon Academy - Joe Carufe

Joe Carufe

President, Two Roads

Let me make one thing clear: I’m not a CPA. And I’ve only been President of Two Roads since November 2016. So why should you pay any attention to a 29-year-old millennial? Because several lessons learned in the accounting industry will enable you to thrive in the tech-saturated, cloud-based, millennial-dominated, on-demand world we now live in.

Success is not about productivity levels, looking busy and billable hours… but from breaking down your existing processes and rebuilding them to be more efficient. I believe that you must be efficient in your work to create capacity for more thinking. There are businesses who don’t have the information they need to make good decisions because we are too busy to take on any more work. I’ve dedicated my working life to figuring out how to do the work in half the time and twice the accuracy. We have an unprecedented opportunity to make a huge impact on our economy by providing better financial clarity to more companies in our community.

“Within one white-boarding meeting Joe broke down our processes into understandable workflows, understood our business model, and then built a system (both processes and upgraded technology) that made my life easier.”
